Biography

Now serving his third term as Inverness Mayor, Jack Tatooles is an attorney with offices in Inverness. Her served two combat tours of duty with Fleet Marine Forces in Vietnam and was awarded seven medals for his military service.

Jack Tatooles has served Administrative Aide to the Illinois Attorney General, Assistant States Attorney for Cook County, Advisor to the Board of Directors of several major corporations, President of the Inverness Hills Homeowners Association, and a member of the Inverness Blue Ribbon Fire Committee.

Since being elected Mayor, Jack is proud of the team of Village residents who continue to serve with him on various Boards and Commissions. Jack also enjoys a unique distinction: he has never missed a single Village Board meeting in his 12 years as Inverness Mayor. Among his proudest accomplishments is the completion of the Inverness Veterans Memorial, 100% funded by private donations. In addition, he has worked to return tax dollars to Inverness through state grants that completely funded Village entrance signs and obtained nearly $700,000 in grants—completely funding the construction of the Village Annex, which will soon house the Village of Inverness Police Department.

Under Jack Tatooles’ leadership as Mayor, Inverness was recently award an unconditional “AAA” rating from Standard and Poors—the highest possible rating. Inverness tax rate remains among the lowest in Cook County, and the Village continues to maintain strong reserves and financial strength.

An Inverness resident since 1985, Jack has been married for 40 years to Doris Tatooles and has three grown children and two grandchildren.
